Leeds Federated is a housing association with around 5,000 homes across Leeds, Wakefield, Kirklees and North Yorkshire.

Our purpose is to help people make a home.

Our history

The idea for Leeds Federated first came about in 1974 and we officially established in 1975.

We’ve always been based in the heart of the communities we serve. The first homes we invested in were at the Arthingtons in central Leeds and our first office was in a house on Arthington Terrace. Like the other homes in the area, our office had an outside toilet and needed upgrading. We rewired, reroofed and replumbed our office and the homes in the Arthingtons and the Ebors.

We worked closely with Leeds City Council and other organisations concerned by the lack of quality homes to rent in the city at that time. Our work initially focused on regeneration in the inner city of Leeds but since then, we’ve increased the number of homes and our geographical spread across Leeds, Wakefield, Kirklees and into North Yorkshire. We’re still just as committed as we were back in 1974 to building and providing safe, affordable homes that people want to live in.
