Press release:
Leeds Federated Housing Association has announced the marketing name for the new shared ownership homes being built as part of the regeneration of the Sugar Hill estate as Colliers Park.
This new name reflects the level of improvement and transformation of the local area since Leeds Federated took over ownership at the end of 2022, while still recognising and paying homage to the estate’s mining community heritage.
The ten assured tenants, who remained at Sugar Hill throughout the redevelopment of the estate, moved into their new homes at the end of last year. Since then, seven residents that were previously living in the Airey homes before the site was redeveloped have also been welcomed back to the site following recent completion of the latest phase of the development by Leeds Federated, in collaboration with Termrim Construction Ltd. The previous landlord moved these residents out to allow for redevelopment of the site.
In addition to this, a show home is currently being fitted out on the site, which will provide a place for potential new shared ownership homeowners and their families to explore the newly built homes.
George Nijjar, Head of Development at Leeds Federated, said:
“We’re excited to have reached a point in development where we can announce the new name of Colliers Park. Leeds Federated has worked hard over the last three years with the team at Termrim to build the new homes on the site, to make sure they’re up to date and secure, while still retaining a sense of community on the much-loved estate.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming not only the returning tenants, but new residents and their families to the estate later this year. The newly constructed properties will provide safe, energy efficient, affordable housing for people in the local community and will give them an opportunity to be a part of this fantastic community”.
The remainder of the new homes are on track to be completed in 2026. Find out more about the Shared Ownership homes at Colliers Park.
