When customers report anti-social behaviour (ASB), we work with them to provide support. We partner with a wide variety of organisations from the police to social services, support agencies and local ASB teams.
Our Neighbourhood Officers regularly attend meetings with different services for the neighbourhoods they support. This helps to develop positive working relationships with other agencies in the area, such as the police.
We use the police intelligence portal which enables us to report information to the police to help them with their enquiries or investigations.
We also partner with the fire service and make referrals to them where concerns around fire safety may be linked with ASB. When we find concerns during our investigation we refer them to social services.
Sometimes, reported ASB may be a sign of a wide range of circumstances affecting someone, and the person who is thought to be causing the ASB is actually a victim. In those cases, we work with customers to signpost or refer to specific organisations who have the relevant expertise.
Our ASB directory
Our ASB directory has details of organisations that can be contacted without the need for us to be involved. Your Neighbourhood Officer also knows the services in your neighbourhood and may be able to help with more specific referrals.
Sometimes you may be affected by nuisance from your neighbours that isn’t ASB. In these cases, we can still support you by offering a range of tools to help resolve the issue.
We offer mediation, access to the Noise app, “Dear Neighbour” cards, and guidance on how to have challenging conversations. These options can help you resolve issues before formal action becomes necessary.
Our community-based approach also helps us to learn more about customers’ thoughts on how issues can be resolved proactively in their neighbourhood.
This year, we developed the first Neighbourhood Plans. Some neighbourhoods highlighted concerns around ASB which we’re currently working on.
You can see the Neighbourhood Plans and how we’re responding on Your Voice.
