The House Exchange website is closing but you can still swap your home through a mutual exchange.
A mutual exchange is a way to swap your home with another social housing tenant who also wants to move. Perhaps one wants to downsize and another needs more bedrooms. Or people may want to move to a different area.
We previously partnered with the House Exchange website to support the home swap process. The House Exchange website showed potential home swaps from the local area and across the UK. The House Exchange website will close permanently on 31 July 2026.

Yes. You can continue to apply to us for a home swap / mutual exchange.
If you’ve found a home swap with someone who lives in a Leeds Federated property, get in touch with your Neighbourhood Officer.

When the website closes, your information on the House Exchange website will be deleted in line with GDPR and data retention requirements.
