
As your landlord, we’re responsible for repairing issues with the structure of your home and those that impact health and safety. We’re also responsible for some issues in communal or shared areas.
You’re responsible for maintaining and repairing some aspects of your home – these are listed in your tenancy agreement but include minor things like:
- Replacing bulbs, fuses and batteries
- Maintaining energy and water meters
- Clearing gullies that drain water away from your home
- Getting rid of any rubbish
- Keeping up with your gardening
- Replacing lost keys – it’s also your responsibility to change the lock and have new keys cut
- Replacing plugs and chains
- Keeping the decoration in your home in good condition
- Repairing any damage you, a family member or visitor might have caused to your home
- Maintaining any garages, driveways and sheds that come with your home
- Preventing frost damage to water pipes in winter
- Keeping air bricks and any vents clear
- Keeping communal or shared areas clear
- Only using smokeless fuel in solid fuel heating systems
