How to apply for a home in Leeds
To apply for a home in Leeds, you need to register with Leeds Homes. They’ll let you know if you’re eligible to apply for housing in Leeds. They will also give you a bidding number and tell you what priority you have.
You can then bid for a home with Leeds Federated, another Housing Association or the council.
Choice Based Lettings
Leeds Homes is a Choice Based Lettings system. This means that you have the chance to ‘bid’ on one of our homes, regardless of where you live in Leeds. Choice Based Lettings can improve your chances of moving to an area you want and they open up better opportunities for everyone.
Lettings Policy
We work to a Lettings Policy across all our homes. The Policy explains who we can let our homes to.
Local Lettings Plans
For some of our homes, we have a Local Lettings Plan – this is an agreement between the council and us, which includes extra criteria to our Lettings Policy about who can move into certain homes. A Local Lettings Plan usually covers new build homes and is in place temporarily to help new communities flourish. It may include things like giving priority to people who already live in the area etc.
Our Local Lettings Plans for Leeds are listed below. If you’d like to apply for a home in one of those areas you must meet the criteria on the relevant Local Letting Plan:
