Press release:

Leeds Federated Housing Association has announced the marketing name for the new shared ownership homes at the regenerated Sugar Hill estate. The development will be called Colliers Park.

The new name highlights the improvements and transformation in the local area since Leeds Federated took ownership at the end of 2022. It also honours the estate’s mining community heritage.

At the end of last year, the ten assured tenants, who remained at Sugar Hill throughout the redevelopment of the estate, moved into their new homes. Since then, seven residents who previously lived in the Airey homes before the site was redeveloped have returned. This follows the recent completion of the latest phase of the development by Leeds Federated in collaboration with Termrim Construction Ltd. The previous landlord moved these residents out to allow for redevelopment of the site.

In addition, a show home is currently being fitted out on the site. This will provide a place for potential new shared ownership homeowners and their families to explore the newly built homes.

George Nijjar, Head of Development at Leeds Federated, said:

“We’re excited to announce the new name of Colliers Park. Leeds Federated has worked hard over the last three years with the team at Termrim to build the new homes on the site. They’ve made sure they’re up to date and secure, while still retaining a sense of community on the much-loved estate.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming not only the returning tenants, but new residents and their families to the estate later this year. The newly constructed properties will provide safe, energy efficient, affordable housing for people in the local community. They will give them an opportunity to be a part of this fantastic community”.

The remainder of the new homes are on track to be completed in 2026. Find out more about the Shared Ownership homes at Colliers Park.
