We carry out full surveys of our homes every 5 years to understand their condition and plan out improvements.
We also know repairs and maintenance issues can crop up at any time so we encourage customers to let us know as soon as they notice issues in their home so we can put things right.
In a recent example, we were contacted by a customer in North Yorkshire who’d noticed damp and mould in her home. We arranged for our HHSRS Surveyor to carry out a full survey of the customer’s home. This helped us understand more about what was happening and look for solutions we could put in place to fix the problem.
What we did
By carrying out a full survey, instead of looking at the damp and mould issue in isolation, we noticed other improvements we could make to benefit the customer. We then reviewed the work we’d planned to make at the customer’s home over the next few years and brought this forward so we could complete everything in one go, rather than revisiting at a later date – this included work such as a replacement kitchen.
