Help paying your bill

There are several schemes available with Yorkshire Water to help if you are struggling. These are:

WaterSure

A bill cap scheme for customers who have a water meter, claim an income-based benefit, claim Universal Credit and if they need to use extra water because they have a medical condition, or three or more children aged under 19.

WaterSupport

This is a bill cap scheme for low-income households. You might be eligible if you have a household income below £20,000 and your annual water bill is more than £270.

Households with dependent children, or larger occupancies, may be eligible for an additional income allowance.

Community Trust

A debt support scheme for customers who have arrears with Yorkshire Water between £50 and £1500 and at least one priority debt over £50.

Water Direct

A debt support scheme for customers who receive a deductible income-based benefit. This means Yorkshire Water can take payments directly from your benefits. Less hassle, less worry!

Resolve

Use less water, save on energy

There are many ways that you can use less water and save on your energy usage. This could be by using less hot water in your showers, washing up or even by only putting the washing machine on when you’ve got a full load. Yorkshire Water has some great tips on their website on how to use less water.

Every home is different, and we all use water in our own way. If you want to see how much water you’re using, check out their water calculator.
