We’re pleased to welcome new residents to the Berkely DeVeer development at Hampton Gardens in Churwell, Leeds. Back in December 2022, we invested in the development site, purchasing 14 homes – 6 as shared ownership properties and 8 for rent.
The development was recently completed and since then
we’ve successfully sold/rented all 14 homes. New residents like Elizabeth and Wayne (and their cat!) have been moving over the last couple of weeks. After moving from a rented flat, Elizabeth and Wayne were able to purchase their new home through our shared ownership option.
When collecting the keys to her new home, Elizabeth said:
“If it wasn't for shared ownership we wouldn't have been able to purchase our own property and have our own home, Leeds Federated were brilliant from start to finish. We are now looking forward to spending many happy years in our new home.”
What is shared ownership?
Shared ownership is an affordable way to get onto the property ladder, without a large deposit. You buy a percentage of the property, between 10%-75%* and pay rent on the rest. This means a smaller deposit and mortgage. Shared ownership also allows you to buy more of your home, up to and including 100% (a process called staircasing)
