(Holbeck and Beeston Information and Tenancy Advice Team)
The aim of this service
The aim of this service is to provide short term "floating
support" service to people throughout Leeds who are vulnerable or
may be experiencing difficulties in managing their accommodation. A
maximum of 2 year support will be provided. H.A.B.I.T.A.T Housing
Support Workers will provide support to 48 tenants in and around
Leeds and are able to work with service users from all types of
housing providers such as Leeds City Council, private landlords and
other Housing Associations.
Support may be offered if you need help in any of the following
areas:
Neighbourhood disputes Drug/ Alcohol issues
Emotional support Advocacy
Budgeting/ debt problems Social interaction
Accessing other services Domestic Violence
Rent arrears Housing issues
How can I refer?
You can contact a member of the H.A.B.I.T.A.T team direct by
telephone, or if you are receiving help/support from other agencies
(see below) they can make a referral to us on your behalf. This may
be agnecies such as:
Voluntary agencies
Citizens Advice, Sure Start, Social Services, or other housing
providers .
Police, Health Service, Probation, Local Authorities
Self-referral through surgeries run by LFHA Neighbourhood
Managers.
A Family member or friend
Eligibility To The Service
The service will be as wide ranging and flexible as possible to
allow access to a spectrum of people living in the local community
particularly:
Young people at risk
People with mental health related issues
Women at risk of domestic violence
People at risk of offending
Older people with support needs
Vulnerable women with children
People with drug/alcohol related issues
All individuals or families referred will be offered a thorough
Needs Assessment. Where someone does not fit into the eligibility
criteria, staff will ensure that individuals/families will be
'signposted' to appropriate services in the community. If
H.A.B.I.T.A.T can provide support, a service user led support plan
will be done in order to plan achievable personal goals.
The service seeks to ensure equality of opportunity and

educational ability. Giving fair access and acknowledging each
individual identity, in order to improve your quality of life, your
well being and development within the
community.
