...terminate the tenancy on death of tenant?

We would like to make the process of terminating a tenancy as smooth as possible especially where a relative or friend has died. Once you have terminated the tenancy then the property will need to be cleared of all furniture and belongings. If you wish to donate these items there are lots of charities and other organisations who will willingly accept many of them but unfortunately Leeds Federated will not be able to pass these onto others on your behalf. Any furniture or white goods that Leeds Fed provided for the tenant should be left in the property. If you are uncertain of anything then please phone us on 0113 396 1000 and ask to speak to the Neighbourhood Officer for that area who will be able to advise further.

Once the property is cleared then you can return the keys to us at our office (unless alternative arrangements have been made with your Neighbourhood Officer). We will then terminate the tenancy and rent account from the following Monday.
