Leeds Federated Housing Association is an Equal Opportunities organisation. This means that:

  1. In the provision of housing services and employment of staff the Association will seek to ensure equality of opportunity and treatment for all persons.

No person or group of persons applying for housing, or for a job, or for a contract with the Association will be treated less favourably than any other person or group of persons because of their sex, race, colour, nationality, ethnic origins, marital status, sexuality, age, trade union activity, religious belief or physical or mental disability.
  3. In carrying out its Equal Opportunities Policy the Association will actively assist disadvantaged individuals or groups to benefit from its housing services.
  4. The Association will seek to identify the needs of disadvantaged groups in its areas of operation by establishing close relationships with those groups.
  5. As an employer, the Association will actively seek to employ staff from disadvantaged groups. Selection procedures and criteria will ensure that individuals are selected and promoted on the basis of their merits and abilities. These procedures will be monitored and regularly reviewed. Where possible, the Association will provide staff with special training facilities to enable them to compete or qualify for positions, or to progress within the Association.
  6. To help fulfil its commitment to equal opportunities, the Association will collect and monitor records of the gender and ethnic/racial origins of all those applying to it for housing and all those seeking employment from the Association.
